Experienced Die-cutting Operator
** IMPORTANT - Please note we are not able to consider applicants that do not have previous die-cutting experience**
Hours: 07:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 07:30 - 14:00 (30 mins daily break)
Holidays: 24 + bank holidays (19 to be taken in factory shutdowns, 5 floating)
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Location: Kettering, NN15 6JQ
Job activities:
- Day to day running of an automatic die-cutting machine.
- Complete and record daily machine health and safety pre-use checks according to the prescribed health and safety protocol for each machine.
- Set up the machine to meet the requirements for every bespoke order.
- Ensure the materials produced match the production sample and specification as agreed.
- Manual handling of raw materials into the machine.
- Regularly check quality to ensure the whole production run meets the desired criteria.
- Ensure machine key performance indicators (KPI's) and specified run rates are achieved.
- Record all daily outputs, waste, and any production issues on production timesheet.
- Report faults or requirements for new parts to your Line Manager immediately on discovery.
- Job rotation with other machines to cover absence when required.
- Training new staff members on how to operate machinery.
- Provide suggestions and observations on how to improve operations.
- Be responsible for supervising agency assistants within your department.
- Be responsible for the quality of the goods produced off the machine.
- Maintain the working order of the machine in order to avoid down time.
- Clean the machine at the end of every shift, always keeping it in good running order.
- Exercise excellent housekeeping standards at all times including the work area around the machine as well as communal factory areas.
- Be flexible and work as a team to deliver the business needs.
- Adhere to company policies and procedure at all times.
- Any other reasonable request made by your Manager or a Senior staff member.
About you:
- Previous experience running a Bobst, or similar.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
- Flexible to suit rapidly changing customer demands.
- Quality focused - is proud of the work they produce.
- Is a good problem-solver with the ability to solve technical/mechanical problems logically.
- Good communication and Team working skills to be able to guide the other employees on the production line.
- Patience - to work on resolving a problem in a calm and efficient manner.
