Student Experience Officer

Location: Egham, Royal Holloway International Study Centre
Salary: up to £13,520 per annum

The purpose of the role is to support students with non-academic areas within our International Study Centre. This will be achieved by providing support to students to ensure they have a positive and enjoyable experience during their time in the International Study Centre, whilst supporting with students transition between the ISC and the University.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide a consistent, accurate and friendly customer reception service to visitors, students, and staff, identifying problems that leads to poor service and contributing to review of this service.
  • To assist with student enquiries both face to face and electronically, directing them appropriately within the ISC to the Centre Director, Wellbeing, Academic and Student Experience Team.
  • To support with ensuring noticeboards around the Centre are updated regularly, and support with managing the Virtual Learning Environment, with particular focus on the Virtual Reception module.
  • Assist and support with creating agenda's, recording, and distributing minutes at Centre meetings.
  • Lead on the organization of social trips and progression ceremony.
  • Lead on the designing and distribution of a monthly student newsletter.
  • Deliver a first-class student experience that surpasses student expectations.
  • Assist the Head of Student Experience with the planning and implementation of induction, ensuring a positive Student Experience is achieved.
  • Provide general student services advice including local and travel information, help with opening bank accounts, issue of confirmation letters, ID cards, letter requests, and maintenance, complaints etc.
  • To plan, coordinate and implement suitable and attractive social activities and events for International students, engaging with students regarding potential events and encouraging participation and attendance regularly throughout the academic year.
  • Lead on the promotion of surveys and questionnaires for students to complete.
  • Support with reviewing student experience feedback and satisfaction data to identify opportunities to improve and create regular plans and reporting for the continuous improvement of Student Experience at the ISC
  • Attend and support with pre-arrival and pre-induction registration sessions and act as the first point of contact for Marketing enquiries.
  • Liaise with University Support Services to participate during Induction periods, e.g. Volunteering, Library Services and Hall Life.
  • Plan and organise induction events, which promotes positive Student Experience between students and their peers.
  • Act as first point of contact for ISC Alumni/previous progressed students and encourage engagement during Induction & Transition periods.
  • Collaborate and act as the first point of contact with the University's Student Union
  • To engage with students regarding sports development activities, assist with promoting clubs and societies at the University, promoting activities and liaising with key stakeholders.
  • Provide cover and support for other members of staff within the Student Experience Team when absent and during peak periods.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of students around the Study Centre

ABOUT YOU

  • Level 3 Qualification in Business and Administration (desirable)
  • Bachelor's Degree (desirable)
  • Working in an administrative role
  • Experience of working in a student/customer facing role
  • Working in a Higher Education or Further Education environment
  • Using data management systems i.e. Salesforce
