European Distribution Sales Manager

The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright Recruitment is delighted to have been retained to lead the search for a European Distribution Sales Manager, for one of our growing manufacturing clients. The Company is a complex component manufacturer and supplies OEM customers in the UK and internationally, with a significant revenue streams from the US and Europe. This position can be based anywhere in the UK and will involve regular European travel, particularly to Germany.

Role Profile:

  • Leading the UK and European sales function and both external sales teams.
  • Overseeing a strong UK sales team that is high performing and established.
  • Leading the existing European sales team and growing this team significantly in 2025.
  • Setting up new distributor agreements in Europe and supporting them to drive sales of the Company's product range in key markets and territories. There is a significant opportunity for substantial growth in the European market.
  • Full P + L accountability for the UK and European revenue streams.
  • Operating as a member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the General Manager.
  • Upline performance and pipeline reporting to the General Manager and to the parent group.

Person Specification:

  • Essential to have experience of setting up and driving distributor relationships and distributor sales performance in Europe.
  • Sector experience in a technically manufactured product / component environment. Could be from either a mechanically or electronically slanted engineering environment.
  • A track record of driving profitable growth across a European market.
  • A competitive mindset and able to evidence exceeding performance expectations on a consistent basis, in sales leadership positions.
  • Strong and inspirational people leadership skills.
  • Excellent IT competence in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable with European wide travel and semi regular travel to the North East HQ as appropriate. Can be based anywhere in the UK.
