**A £6m turnover SME business in Runcorn is looking for an experienced Accountant to join them.
In this Accountant role, you will enjoy a broad range of responsibilities, have a great level of autonomy, and be a key member of the senior management team.
You will work in a fast paced yet relaxed culture, and can hire, mentor, and develop an Assistant in the future. You will influence process improvements, and ensure all processes are fit-for-purpose and meet business expectations.
You will work closely with the Group Finance Director, MD, and Operations Director too.
As Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Production of monthly management accounts, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintenance of the fixed-asset register, cashflow management, bank reconciliation, and VAT returns
- Maintenance of product costings and stock reconciliations
- First-hand processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, expenses, and month-end close
- Support the annual statutory audit process and bi-annual stock takes
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Minimum AAT Qualified
- Up to date and relevant experience working in a broad, hands-on Accountant role ideally in an SME
- Ability to work at pace and meet deadlines
- Experience using SME-sized accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of best practice in financial policies, procedures, and systems
Salary & Benefits:
- £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
