We are seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations and management of service & holding companies on behalf a global energy client of ours.

This role is based in the firms London office and requires a candidate with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Oversee month-end closing and review management accounts for reporting.
  • Control cash flow management for treasury and manage group intercompany transactions.
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for compliance and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities during financial audits and inspections.
  • Lead and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and effectively delegating tasks.
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT reporting, PAYE Settlement process, and all financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial and organisational goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CPA) with 2-3 years minimum post qualified experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and financial management software, with SAP, IBM Cognos, HFM being advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting standards.
