Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: Process and record all financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and client funds.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Billing Support: Assist with generating invoices, verifying billable items, and ensuring timely billing to clients.
  • Client Ledger: Manage client ledger accounts, ensuring accurate allocation of funds and prompt handling of queries.
  • Petty Cash: Oversee petty cash management and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Expense Management: Process and reconcile staff expenses, ensuring adherence to the firm's expense policies.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reporting: Assist in generating financial reports, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a finance role within the legal sector.
  • Proficiency in legal accounting software and a good understanding of legal finance regulations.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and other relevant financial regulations.
  • A proactive and professional approach to problem-solving and client service.
  • A team player with effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
