We have an exciting, brand new opportunity to join us as a Supervisor - Plumbing and Electrical. As part of our growth and development, we have a new Head of Repairs who is creating a new management team to enable us to continue to bring work inhouse. You will supervise and lead a team of multi skilled technicians, who deliver repairs services to our residents and leaseholders. You will provide leadership and guidance, monitoring activities on site to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.
We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.
Requirements
Outline of Key Responsibilities...
- To provide site supervision and where required management and technical advice to technicians, monitoring performance, progress of works against programs, carrying out pre and post quality inspections of work as required
- Contribute to and deliver operational plans so that the repairs, adaptations, and voids service is delivered in a cost-effective way which meets Havebury service standards and procedures and policies. Show initiative to improve processes where improvement requirements are identified
- Ensure that the team is operating in line with the department ethos of "Fix all repairs in full, on time, first time". Where this is not as expected, take positive action to address any required improvements and rectification
- To ensure that customers' needs are satisfied by effective communication and efficient organisation of the works, plus the embedding of a customer focus approach to service delivery
- Operate within the parameters of all applicable company budgets, with a demonstrable knowledge of ‘value for money' and its application
- To lead and support technicians in terms of recruitment, training, complaints, disciplinaries and performance, including the effective management of 121's of direct reports
- To provide onsite first line technical support to the workforce, actively participating in on site activities where required
We are looking for someone who has...
- Must hold one or more of the following (or equivalent): C&G 6035, 6036, 6189, 6188, 7202, 5393, 2366.
- Experience of onsite property repairs and maintenance
- Experience of reactive and planned preventative maintenance in the social housing sector
- Managing a budget and demonstrable knowledge and application of Value for Money
- Supervisory or line management experience
- Development of action plans to ensure successful delivery of outcomes
- Ability to analyse and process schedule of work activities
