The Role:
As a Personal Tax Semi Senior, you will assist with the preparation of personal tax returns and provide support on various personal tax matters. You will work closely with senior tax managers and partners, gaining valuable experience while helping clients manage their tax obligations and plan for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing personal tax returns for a variety of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, directors, and sole traders.
- Assisting with tax planning and advisory projects, including inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning.
- Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
- Assisting with the preparation of P11Ds and other tax-related forms.
- Supporting senior staff with ad hoc tax projects and advisory work.
- Managing your workload to ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and on time.
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance tax efficiency for clients and providing recommendations.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact.
- Assisting with the training and development of junior team members as required.
Requirements:
- Part-qualified ATT/CTA (or equivalent) with experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- Strong understanding of UK personal tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues.
- Experience in preparing personal tax returns and understanding of tax planning strategies.
- Proficiency in tax software and general accounting systems such as CCH or similar.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Willingness to learn and progress towards full tax qualification (CTA or ATT).
