We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team. If you have a passion for numbers, a sharp eye for detail, and a desire to build a career in finance, we'd love to hear from you!

You will work as part of the Finance Team undertaking various tasks to include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure that all transactions are completed accurately and efficiently in accordance with the Company's policies and controls.

Daily duties with alternative between the three areas of the team, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Expenses on a rota basis.

  • Ensure that all supplier invoices and expenses/mileage for employees are processed accurately and within a timely manner, as well as ensuring they are approved correctly
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers to avoid any late payment charges or suspensions to include reconciling accounts
  • Identify and allocate customer cash receipts ensuring that the cash books are kept clear at all times
  • Entering sales invoices, making sure that they are logged correctly with no duplicates and that income and VAT are treated correctly
  • Resolve any issues that may arise
  • Monitor the mailboxes regularly and make sure that the AP/AR tickets portal is regularly checked, responding to issues within the SLAs
  • To complete any other duties as required by the Line Managers

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role or relevant accounting/finance education.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
