Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" Primary and Nursery school in Chester as they are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Teaching Assistant to support across KS1 (Key Stage 1). This is a long-term temporary contract that will commence from September 2024 and will last a minimum of two full terms.
Your new role
In your new role as a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils across receptions, year 1 and year 2. You will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, offering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects as required. You will support with reading, writing and, when working with younger year groups, support with phonics sessions. With a number of pupils moving from the reception to year 1 class, you will support them with their transition. You will also be required to work under the instruction of the class teacher and aid in general classroom and behaviour management.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience within a primary school in the last 2 years, as well as:
- Previous experience with Key Stage 1
- Experience holding intervention and booster sessions
- An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential
