Senior Programme Manager

Posted by National Trust.

Summary

We're planning a transformational programme of project delivery in the Midlands and East of England region, including at least seven £1M+ projects a year for the next five years.

As a Senior Programme Manager, you and your team of Project Managers will be responsible for planning and implementing a suite of construction projects across the region, focussed on building conservation and visitor infrastructure delivery. Working collaboratively with our Consultancy Managers, you'll develop project pipelines, lead the establishment of new ways of working and ensure excellence in project and programme management.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to Assistant Director of Consultancy you'll be part of the Trust's internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including conservation, marketing and supporter development activities, you'll be working with others to help make things happen.

As this role covers the Midlands and East of England region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust property to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We'll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

What you'll be doing

There will be a large group of stakeholders to manage and many lessons to learn and apply. You'll be leading a team, working collaboratively for project management excellence, creating transformational and cultural change, and overseeing delivery through your project managers in a complex stakeholder environment.

The Trust is currently increasing its use of external contractors for project management and specialist advice, and you'll be leading the embedding of this way of working across the region, including growing our team's skills as clients and ensuring that learning is shared.
