Platform Specialist
Location: Harrow Council
Pay Rates:
- Pay: £22.52 -£25.38 per hour
Job Description: Harrow Council is seeking a dedicated Platform Specialist to manage and maintain the Council's production servers, operating systems, cloud environments, Office 365 applications, SAAS applications, network, backups, and internet security infrastructure, ensuring high levels of system availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and mentoring to the ICT team.
- Manage the Technical Support team, including task allocation, resource planning, and monitoring staff performance.
- Handle call escalations from ICT Support Teams, ensuring prompt and professional resolution.
- Influence and manage significant budgets, including:
- £4 million on operational contracts and capital projects.
- £2 million on Microsoft cloud platforms.
- £1.5 million with outsourced partners.
- Ensure supplier contracts are managed effectively.
- Represent ICT Operation services at CAB, reviewing and approving infrastructure changes.
- Manage budgets for Azure and Office 365, implementing cost control measures.
- Ensure new projects for the live environment are fit for purpose and can be supported.
- Develop and implement problem-solving processes.
- Coordinate administration processes to ensure legal compliance.
- Compile reports and statistical data to track and manage service delivery.
- Build effective relationships with ICT colleagues and suppliers.
