Finance Manager - Education Setting
Reed Accoutancy & Finance are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations within our clients educational institution based in Cranbrook. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management and a passion for education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with educational leaders.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, purchasing, and other transactions.
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting; develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
- Lead the finance team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with department heads to monitor budget allocations and expenditures.
- Conduct financial analysis and present findings to senior management and the board of trustees.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure timely completion of the audit process.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in strategic planning and support the leadership team with financial insights.
- Manage financial risks and ensure the institution's assets are safeguarded.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
