We are supporting a Not-for-Profit in Essex to recruit a Head of Finance. The role will report directly into the CEO and oversee a small finance team. On offer is £50,000 - £55,000, plus the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Our Essex based client was established in 2017, through the support of the Local Authority they are looking to grow and require an ambitious Head of Finance to assist on their journey.

Head of Finance:

  • Work closely with the CEO and assist the Leadership Team to meet the organisation's aims.
  • Ownership of the organisation's finances, inclusive of cash flow forecasting.
  • Lead on all budgetary control and compliance requirements for the organisation.
  • Manage a small team of finance administrators.
  • Ensure the organisation is in line with government statutory guidelines.
  • Assist the CEO to prepare the 5 year financial strategy.
  • Act as key contact for the internal and external auditors.
  • Maximise income through grants and other activities.
  • Partner with Operations to create timely and accurate management reports.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and operation of financial controls.

Head of Finance:

  • Ideally, you will be CCAB or CGMA/CIMA qualified. PQ or QBE will be considered.
  • At least 5 years experience overseeing a finance function within the Not-for-Profit sector.
  • Knowledge or previous oversight of payroll.
  • Ability to evidence leading an external audit.
  • Previous experience creating the financial strategy, budgeting and financial appraisals.
  • Proven experience monitoring cash flow and investments.
  • Ability to commute 3-4 days per week into the Essex office.

Head of Finance:

£50,000 - £55,000.

23 days annual leave, rising to 28 days, plus 8 public holidays.
