Data Product Owner

Our leading client has an exciting new vacancy for a Data Product Owner to join an expanding team. As a Data PO, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of data-driven products within the organization through defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap, as well as prioritizing features and enhancements based on user needs and business goals.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data analysts, software developers and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of data products that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the vision and strategy for data products, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
  • Define KPI trees, metrics, definitions and create a data dictionary
  • Data Governance: Ensure data products adhere to data governance policies and best practices, maintaining data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse the performance of data products, using metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain a product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on user feedback, business value, and technical feasibility.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, define product features, and ensure successful delivery.

Skills / experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a data-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, data management, and data governance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field preferred

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud / AWS platforms
  • Experience with Alteryx or Databricks
