What you will do

New Business

  • Day-to-day ownership of bringing on new clients from right across the spectrum of e-commerce, from new startups to leading brands.
  • Excellent at working inbound leads generated by our marketing team and partnership network, understanding how to qualify an inbound lead and how to convert it to a sale.
  • Excited by the prospect of generating your own leads, using outbound methods to create conversations and turn these into new customers.
  • Run your own product demos, with training and support from the senior team, and manage top-level technical conversations with prospects
  • Develop excellent relationships with lead-generating partners, such as affiliate networks and other martech solutions, to become their partner of choice and generate inbound enquiries.
  • Effectively use reporting and Hubspot CRM to prioritise your time and achieve your monthly sales and performance targets.
  • You will be our internal customer champion, bringing back market insights and collaborating closely with the account management and product teams to develop our winning proposition.
  • Play a core role in the rapid growth of the New Business team, looking for ways to improve communication and optimise the team's systems.
  • Highly interlinked with the Account Management and Product teams, creating great relationships with colleagues to collaborate on the best possible end-to-end client experience.

About You

Required Skills

  • Solid sales experience in a B2B consultative sales environment. Sales is in your DNA, and you get a thrill from landing that next big deal. You're not hesitant to get stuck in and sell.
  • A confident communicator, just as great whether writing emails, running prospect meetings, hosting video calls or attending networking events.
  • A thirst for evidence to drive your sales pipeline. We want you to be data-driven, looking for signals from the market and our clients to determine how you win new business.
  • You have a methodical and analytical approach to sales, employing thoughtful tactics to discover what works best and leveraging these insights to enhance future efforts.
  • You're highly sociable and value building out your network, not fazed by attending events and conferences.
  • You're comfortable in technical conversations. While you're not in a technical role yourself, you're just as happy discussing product details and conversing with product managers as you are at getting out there and pitching.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working in a new business role with a martech, affiliate, SaaS or other B2B technology aimed at retailers.
  • Experience in the e-commerce industry, such as working with online purchases, digital marketing, affiliates or similar.
  • Experience working with clients across a broad range of sectors, such as retail, travel and telecoms.
  • Experience of developing partnerships to deliver inbound leads, especially those with technical integrations involved.
  • Experience of working with CRMs like HubSpot, Salesforce or similar.
