About the Role...

EG Group is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Fuel Manager. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your industry expertise to enhance our wet stock operations, using tools like Power BI to develop actionable reports and dashboards. Your strong analytical skills will be crucial in conducting root cause analyses, identifying inventory discrepancies, and leading cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing stock management processes.

Reporting directly to the Head of Fuel, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business performance through work closely with various teams, ensuring accurate application of business logic and driving continuous improvement. This role also offers the chance to mentor junior analysts, contribute to the development of our BI platforms, and engage directly with senior stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyse and improve wet stock management processes using extensive experience in the fuel or oil industry.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights into stock levels, trends, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct advanced root cause analysis to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, implementing systematic process improvements.
  • Utilise functional programming skills for data transformation, automation tasks, and enhancement of inventory management systems.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on optimizing stock management processes, improving overall business performance, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Present complex data findings to senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Guide and support junior analysts, fostering best practices in data analysis and contributing to the development of BI products and platforms.
  • Work closely with various teams on projects, ensuring accurate business logic application and promoting innovation and optimization.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) for data verification, validation, and supporting decision-making processes.
  • Lead and participate in agile rituals, manage personal work tickets, and assist junior team members using DevOps/Jira.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, pushing for innovation and optimization in all processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in wet stock management within the fuel or oil industry.
  • Extensive experience in Power BI development, including DAX, configuration, UI/UX, and report design.
  • Proven ability to conduct advanced root cause analysis and implement effective process improvements.
  • Experience in leading and managing projects, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes on time.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex data insights to C-suite executives and other senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with functional programming languages and inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate application of business logic and drive project success.
  • Experience in leading and participating in agile rituals, with proficiency in managing work tickets using Azure DevOps/Jira
  • A proactive approach to driving innovation and optimization in operational processes.
  • Strong Managerial experience to mentor Junior colleagues
