Role Overview: They are seeking a passionate and organised Literacy Subject Lead to join our Middle Leadership Team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and quality-assuring the English/Literacy curriculum across the school. You will ensure that our subject is consistently well-planned, with a strong focus on structure, methodology, and delivery of the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the English/Literacy subject area, ensuring high-quality planning and delivery across the school.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students with severe to complex learning needs, Autism, and related difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with families and the school community to support student learning and development.
- Utilise practical, experiential, and therapeutic education strategies to engage students and facilitate their progress.
- Be an effective team player with strong organisational skills and a highly structured approach to teaching.
- Contribute to the school's Middle Leadership Team, sharing best practices and supporting overall school improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified teacher status with experience in special education.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in curriculum planning and coordination.
- Strong understanding of strategies to support students with severe to complex learning needs, Autism, and sensory processing difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families and colleagues.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all students.
