Global Head of Lean

Our client, an innovative leader in manufacturing technology, is looking for a Global Head of Lean to drive significant process improvements across their global operations. This pivotal role will be based in Burgess Hill and offers hybrid working, focusing on enhancing operational excellence within a high-growth area instrumental to industries including electronics, medical research, and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the strategic direction, communication, and content of the VTPS-B program to align with the business area's needs.
  • Developing new processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Driving process excellence and change by analysing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinating with various departments to ensure effective implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enhancing organizational excellence by leading projects to reduce costs and improve operations.
  • Building a forward-thinking leadership platform to cultivate a strong organisational culture and talent pipeline.
  • Setting, maintaining, and auditing operational standards across the organisation.
  • Owning the VTPS program company-wide, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability to communicate and interact effectively at all organisational levels, backed by global cultural experience and understanding.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capability to empower and influence team members.
  • Detailed-oriented approach to problem-solving and planning.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and provide innovative, pragmatic solutions.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SAP, MES, and PLM highly desirable.
  • Excellent command of English; additional languages are advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Formal Lean certification or recognised professional education in business environment e.g., Six Sigma / Shingo.
  • Extensive experience in delivering large complex change programs within the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in implementing Lean practices and leading operational excellence projects.
