Social Workers - Children Looked After Team

The Role:

We have an opening for a Social Worker in our Children with Disabilities (CWD) team, specifically within the Assessment and Review (A&R) section. You will assess, review, and progress plans for children in need and those accessing short breaks. Safeguarding is a critical aspect of this role.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Professional Social Work Degree or equivalent, registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Post-qualifying experience in children's services, specifically in assessing care needs and implementing care packages.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, assessment, and planning skills. Ability to manage a complex caseload and work independently. Knowledge of statutory regulations and social work interventions.
  • Other: Enhanced DBS check required. Driving license and access to a vehicle preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of children.
  • Manage an independent caseload, ensuring high standards and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and implement suitable interventions.
  • Produce concise, well-structured reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues and other agencies to deliver effective services.
  • Engage with children, young people, and families to understand their needs and views.
  • Participate in professional development and supervision to maintain high practice standards.
  • Uphold Slough Children First's values and contribute to a positive team culture.
