We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer to join our IT team. You will be responsible for the development, supply and validation of data which will allow business users to make informed decisions. This role will include a mixture of hybrid working, with the option to work from either home or the office based in Leicester,

The Role

Customer / Strategy / Plan

Creation of data / reports to meet user needs

  • Work with the management team and other internal customers to specify the requirement
  • Develop specification documentation of request to be signed off by end user
  • Work to a prioritised schedule to produce output
  • Develop and Test solution using the best tools identified during specification
  • Create documentation and handover for end users and IT Support function
  • Follow the department version control methods using Team Foundation Services (TFS)
  • Deploy solution once UAT and sign off completed

Support existing reporting

  • Enhance and redevelop reports to meet changing needs of the business
  • Create and Monitor Jobs and Schedules
  • Automate or increase efficiency of existing reports to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data.
  • Troubleshoot and fix ad-hoc user reporting issues

Develop and maintain the Data Warehouse (DW) using Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes

  • Create Integration Services packages (SSIS) to load data from source to staging to live
  • Maintain and monitor the DW processes and monitor them
  • Test and monitor accuracy and performance of data loads

The Person

Ideally we are looking for someone with a minimum of one years experience, but we would also welcome applications from recent graduates!

SQL Server Management Studio

  • Data Definition Language (DDL) to include create, alter, drop of objects
  • Data Manipulation Language (MDL) to include select, insert, delete of data
  • Creation of Views, Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers
  • Security setup
  • Maintain and update indexes, statistics, keys and constraints

Visual Studio / SQL Server Data Tools - BI

  • Integration Services Packages (SSIS)
  • Reporting Services reports (SSRS)
  • Analysis services Cubes (SSAS)

Strong communication and engagement skills at all levels

Desirable

  • PowerBI
  • In-depth knowledge fo GDPR
