Employee Relations Partner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations Partner to join an established organisation on a fixed term contract until March 2025. The Employee Relations Partner will play a key part in the wider People Team, regularly dealing with complex and critical employee relation issues using analysis, experience and expertise to facilitate appropriate outcomes.

The successful candidate will be CIPD Level 7 / HR Management Degree or equivalent and have the ability to effectively, competently and pro-actively manage ER cases to an appropriate conclusion. You will have the ability to build confidence and credibility with leaders at all levels of the organisation, excellent communication skills both verbal and written is essential.

The role is flexible with regards to location and be based anywhere within a defined area/region eg Wiltshire/Hampshire

Key duties:

  • Work closely with leaders across all operating regions, to develop and implement medium to long term people related solutions aligned with business strategy within the specialisms of Resolutions or Health & Well-being
  • Provide sound advice and guidance, supporting leaders to competently deal with investigations, disciplinary, grievances, performance management issues / sickness, sensitively in line with policy principles
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support of training initiatives and the continual development management tool kits
  • Share in the supervision and develop one co-ordinator
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with other teams, within People & Comms to develop an approach that provides the best service to our internal customers
  • Provide insight to ensure the continued development of relevant employment related people policies and procedures
  • Create leader information, guidance templates and documents ensuring they reflect business determined approaches and remain legally compliant
  • Proactively work 'with' leaders to enable them to competently manage their teams people issue promptly themselves using best practice approaches, our people policies principles underpinned by restorative techniques.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on employment case law and associated legislative changes and effectively utilise this knowledge and insight within your team and the work we do as people team.
  • Ensure ER cases are recorded, tracked, and proactively managed to conclusion or hand off to the relevant Strategic Business Partner,

Key Skills

  • Chartered MCIPD status
  • Workplace Mediation or Restorative Practice experience
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and best practice to enable leaders to effectively manage their teams
  • Excellent writing and language skills and the ability to communicate effectively with leaders and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to advise competently on cases in a timely manner and work effectively in line with policy and best practice guidance to reduce business risk whilst remaining solution focussed
