Children's Residential Team Leader
Location: Walsall - WS4
Salary: £13.50 per hour + £55 per sleep-in
Shift Pattern: 2 on, 4 off (7am - 9pm, sleep, 7am - 9am)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Residential Team Leader to join a 6-bed home that supports young people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. The home currently has 2 young people in place and is rated Good overall, with Outstanding Leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a supportive and well-established home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shifts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Supervise medication administration and personal care as needed.
- Handle any issues that arise during shifts.
- Support young people, including those with hoisting and personal care needs.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the team, ensuring high-quality care at all times.
- Help create a nurturing and safe environment for the young people.
What We're Looking For:
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience working with young people with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and support staff on shift.
- An understanding of challenging behaviour, though full restraint training is not required.
- Personal care experience, including hoisting.
- Reliability and commitment (we're looking for someone who wants to stay long-term, not job-hoppers).
- Driving licence (automatic accepted).
