Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary: £14.65 PH

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Oldham. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour management plans.
  • Support teaching staff in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Work collaboratively with the SEN team and other professionals to support student development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve behaviour and engagement.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
