We are currently looking for a Open Spaces Operativewho can work closely with the Conwy County Borough Council .
Role: Open Spaces Operative
Location: Llandudno
Pay Rate: £12.38 per hour
Shift Pattern: Full time, 37 hours pw
The Purpose of this Role:-
To carry out a wide range of general duties on highways, in public parks and playing fields, landscaped areas, and open spaces.
Your responsibilities are to:-
To carry out grass mowing, hedge trimming, clearance of leaves and litter, shrub and flowerbed maintenance, herbicide application and road repairs.
Carry out highways repair and construction work under supervision.
Carry out traffic management in accordance with Chapter 8.
Attend road traffic incidents and emergency road closures.
Carry out ground based tree work.
To be responsible for the Cleansing of an area, including fly tipping removal.
Undertake ditching works and clear blocked drains and culverts.
To operate a range of powered hand tools and light plant, and the operation of tractor mounted equipment.
Apply road salt to roads, footways and open spaces during snow or ice conditions.
To work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for the direction of work of trainees and/or other employees.
To drive, and be responsible for a vehicle where this is allocated.
To comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act including the wearing of appropriate PPE.
To implement any changes in work methods, equipment and technology as required including completion of all necessary paperwork
To undergo training as necessary to fulfil the role.
If necessary to work any five out of seven days between 7am and 7pm.
