Part time Pharmacist

Evolve is working with a brand-new independent pharmacy client, who is in search of a GPhC registered part-time Pharmacist to join their branch in Derby (DE65) on a 12-month fixed term contract starting from September 2024.

This part time position covering maternity leave is working 18 hours over 2 days per week - ideally Tuesdays & Wednesdays, or Wednesdays & Thursdays (Wednesdays are non-negotiable). Working hours are 8:30am to 6pm with 30 minutes for lunch where the Pharmacy closes.

Dispensing circa 7,000 items per month, you will also focus on providing Pharmacy First services and Enhanced Services such as Contraception.

Ideal backgrounds for the Pharmacist

  • GPhC registered Pharmacist (suitable for newly qualified and experienced Pharmacists).
  • Accreditation to provide Pharmacy First service is essential.
  • Accreditation to provide Enhanced Services such as Contraception is preferred.

Role Responsibilities for the Pharmacist

  • Undertaking medicine reviews (MUR's), pharmacy first, and other enhanced services to help patients in the community.
  • Dispense prescription medicine to the public in accordance with the regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting GP's orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibles and prescribing errors.
  • Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, labelling medicines.
  • Control medications by monitoring drug therapies, advising interventions.
  • Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organising and directing Technicians workflow, verifying their preparation, and labelling of medicines verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
