Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Technical Support team for a Trainee Technical Support Specialist.

The Technical Support team, based in Broadstairs, are responsible for the testing and validation of inkjet products and systems performance including hardware, software and ink.

As part of this team, you will undertake a programme of training, working alongside the current specialists to learn how to provide a full understanding of the functionality and application capability of all equipment and inks in the range.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Once trained you will deliver timely expert 2nd and 3rd line escalation support to 1st line support organisations professionally and in accordance with service level agreements
  • Research new technologies within the range to develop procedures and training materials to assist product training activity
  • Assist with supporting product documentation, training requirements and distribution of technical support information
  • Respond to requests for print samples and carry out demonstrations of equipment both face to face and remotely
  • Assist sending samples via courier
  • Complete validations on new equipment and ink ranges
  • Identify potential opportunities to improve work processes, tools and systems to streamline workflows
  • Support the department as needed in special projects
  • Implement 7s in the area and related safe systems of work for the machines

Candidate requirements

  • Ideally degree level qualification or similar, preferably in an engineering or scientific discipline
  • A positive proactive approach to work you will have the ability to make effective and timely decisions
  • Ability to communicate technology issues clearly to manager and the team with awareness of priorities and determination to deliver results on time.
  • Engineering know-how of WFIJ (Wide-Format Inkjet) principles and systems
  • Competent on Mac or PC, with a good comprehension of the OS, Microsoft products
  • Strong verbal communication skills including report writing
  • Proactive, ambitious, and strong ability to learn new things
  • Highly organised and detailed with critical attention to detail and documentation
  • Full UK driving licence required
