Head of Procurement Role Overview:

The Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that support our business goals, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. You will lead the procurement team, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance, reduce costs, and enhance supplier quality.

Key Head of Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Introduce and improve the efficiency of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement sustainable and innovative strategies, and to evolve the strategy as technology, markets, and business needs change.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure efficient procurement processes.
  • Oversee risk management and compliance within the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs.
  • Report on procurement performance and contribute to strategic planning.

Head of Procurement Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as Head of Procurement or in a similar senior procurement role within manufacturing or Construction.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data to drive decisions.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent is desirable.
