History Teacher

History teacher - Bolton - September 2024

A dedicated and passionate History Teacher is required to work at a 'Good' secondary school in Bolton, to join them on a full-time basis for 12 months, teaching key stage 3 & 4 from September 2024, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Bolton teachers.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.

This school has been recently inspected by Ofsted and found to be 'Good' in all areas. Pupils feel safe and well supported at this warm and welcoming school, with their polite and kind nature. The leaders of the school have high expectations of the students which the pupils rise to everyday by striving for the best in behaviour and progress. Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular activities. For instance, pupils enjoy taking part in clubs like yoga, drone design, strategy gaming and creative writing. Pupils develop their wider understanding of the world through visits to the theatre to watch performances such as Othello, Wicked, A Christmas Carol and The Inspector Calls.

Hours - 8:30am - 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc)

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
