About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Proposals Design Engineer to join our team. Are you a talented Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in an innovative environment? The Proposals Design Engineer is responsible for turning concepts into reality through the creation of technical drawings for proposals. As a Proposals Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for crafting technical drawings and collaborating closely with Sales and Product Line Managers to bring projects to life.

Some of the duties you will be responsible for include:

  • Review client RFQs and analyse and summarise client requirements
  • Determine client documentation, quality, safety, environmental, and engineering deliverables pre and post-award
  • Collate and respond to RFQ Technical Clarifications with assistance from relevant parties within Matix
  • Identify technical proposal risks and develop solutions to control or mitigate risks
  • Review the scope of supply and liaise with Engineering and Product Line Managers to compile suitable cost-effective solutions
  • Prepare technical proposal drawings to be included in bid submissions
  • Assist with detailed cost estimates in a timely and cost-effective manner in line with the company's Profit Margin and Costing Policy

About You

To play a part in our continued expansion and success, we are seeking someone who ideally has:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Minimum five years of experience
  • Proven experience working with and interpreting working engineering drawings and data to extract information
  • Proven experience in managing projects within demanding timeframes

In addition, the following would be considered highly advantageous:

  • Proven experience in producing high-quality proposal documents
  • Sound knowledge of ERP systems, EPICOR will be highly regarded
  • Experience within the polymer and composite manufacturing industry
  • Experience within the Offshore, Resources or Subsea industries
