Join a dedicated team at a School based in Ealing. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Special Needs Teacher who is committed to promoting student development and providing exceptional support for students. The school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join their Secondary Special Needs School. Our school supports students with a range of special needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and complex needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality education tailored to the individual needs of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Individualised Education: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Creating a Supportive Environment: Establish a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assessing and Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with Specialists: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Behavior Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social interactions among students.
  • Parental Engagement: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on student progress and actively involving them in their child's education.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in special education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Whole-School Activities: Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with secondary-aged students with special needs, particularly Autism, SEMH, and complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of special education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
