We are recruiting for a Compliance Monitoring Manager based in Bracknell, Berkshire, offering a competitive daily rate and the flexibility to work from home up to 50% of the time, depending on business needs.

The Role:

As the Compliance Monitoring Manager, you will play a vital role within our client's Risk and Compliance Department. Reporting directly to the Compliance and Risk Section Manager, you will provide a second line of defence to the business. Your responsibilities will include conducting thematic reviews, managing risks, participating in internal and external audits, and assisting the business in meeting its legal and regulatory obligations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support Risk and Compliance:

Assist the Risk and Compliance department to ensure the business meets its legal and regulatory obligations.

  • Thematic Reviews:

Conduct thorough thematic reviews from a second-line perspective in key business areas such as complaints, affordability and creditworthiness assessments, vulnerable customers, and user access. Produce comprehensive reports on findings and recommend actionable next steps.

  • Risk Management:

Share responsibility for risk management activities, assist with risk management across the business, ensure internal systems and assessments are frequently updated, and support the business with risk management queries.

  • Horizon Scanning:

Identify regulatory announcements and upcoming changes, write briefing notes covering key regulatory updates and announcements for senior management.

  • Transactional Monitoring:

Conduct monthly transactional monitoring of key operational areas, such as Data Subject Access Requests, breaches, and financial promotions.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Required:

  • Experience working in a regulated financial services firm.
  • Ability to understand and interpret legislation and regulation.
  • Experience conducting second line monitoring, both transactional and thematic.
  • Experience producing management information.
  • Highly organised and accurate approach to work.
  • Strong analytic and interpretive skills.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs and IT environments.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of current motor finance regulatory trends and requirements.
