What you'll be doing

  • Working as part of an agile team assisting in the evolution of the Java Microservice and Cloud Platform to keep fit for the future to support changing requirements and working practices in a fast-changing technology landscape
  • Identifying, implementing or suggesting changes that improve service to internal and external customers
  • Supporting more junior members of the team to ensure the delivery and management tasks across legacy & cloud-based Java stacks
  • Delivering quality outputs in a timely fashion that meet the needs of stakeholders, whilst focusing not just on what is delivered, but equally focused on quality
  • Using your knowledge and ability to collaborate with other members of the team, to enhance their and your skills and manage multiple streams of work through to completion

We need you to have

  • Proven and successful track record and in-depth experience in Java development preferably at an enterprise scale
  • SME knowledge and significant practical experience in Agile development with a strong grasp of automation, continuous integration, test-driven development and continuous refactoring
  • In depth knowledge and significant practical experience of performing code reviews and drive software standards and best practices
  • SME experience in Agile development, e.g. Scrum, Kanban, etc
  • SOAP/ REST Web Services
  • SpringBoot, Maven/Gradle, Kubernetes

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure Cloud
  • Experience of Migrating legacy Java platforms
  • Knowledge of IBM IIB/ACE and/or WTX
