HR Manager
Slinfold, Horsham, West Sussex

  • Part time, minimum 20 hours per week (flexible start/finish times, across 3-4 days)
  • £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, pro rata

The Position:

We are looking for an HR Manager to provide comprehensive and professional HR services to both FC Lane Electronics Ltd and Weald Electronics Ltd. This stand-alone role involves working independently and reporting directly to the Managing Director. You'll be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, ensuring best practices in employment, recruitment, training and development, benefits and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle, including onboarding, performance management and off-boarding
  • Build strong working relationships across the business, delivering value-added services to management and employees
  • Provide HR guidance and support to management where necessary
  • Develop, implement and improve HR policies and procedures that comply with UK legal requirements
  • Oversee the full recruitment process, including job descriptions, adverts, social media updates and interviews
  • Manage contractual paperwork, including offer letters and contracts of employment
  • Maintain employee records and update HR systems
  • Provide advice and support on employee relations, disciplinary actions and grievance procedures
  • Administer employee payroll and absence management
  • Produce HR reports as required
  • Coordinate and administer the salary review cycle and Company Bonus Scheme
  • Deliver training programmes to Managers on HR practices and procedures

Our Right Candidate:

We are looking for someone with comprehensive HR experience, ideally within the engineering or manufacturing sectors – a significant advantage for this role.

At FC Lane Electronics, you will have the chance to apply your in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR processes in a small to medium-sized enterprise setting. You will be ready to step into a role with significant responsibility and independence.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 5 in HR Management
  • 5+ years working in HR at Manager/Advisor level, preferably in an SME
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience in the engineering/manufacturing, ideally in an ISO environment is a plus
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Collaborative and pragmatic approach to work
