Hays are working closely with a construction company based in the Walsall area who are looking to welcome an Assistant Accountant to their finance team.
Your new role
- Completion of Bank reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis
- Calculation and posting of accruals/prepayments/month end journals onto the ERP system to assist in production of monthly management accounts
- Assist in the producing the monthly management and branch reports for senior management
- Assist with external and internal audit as required
- Reconciliation of Balance sheet control accounts and escalating any reconciling items
- Issue Intercompany invoices and assist with reconciling Intercompany balances on a monthly basis
- Support completion of VAT returns on a quarterly basis
- Assist in annual and perpetual stock takes
- Support the purchase ledger function, providing advice and support as required
- Monitor and report any unusual expenditure, challenging avoidable costs
- Provide analysis as required to support branch, department and company decision making
- Identify and implement process improvements, as part of a continuous improvement programme
