Senior Community Support Worker

One of the North West's leading disability charities is looking for a Senior Community Support Worker (Positive Behaviour Support) to join the team. Along with a salary of £27,590 per annum, you will also receive a range of benefits including 25% uplift on weekend hours, fully funded training and development opportunities, 27 days holiday + Bank Holidays increasing with time, 7% employer pension contributions and access to mental health first aiders.

This role is integral to the leadership and management of the new intervention hub. This is a day service working with family and children who are on the cusp of going into residential care. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, supporting and mentoring staff, and working directly with children and young people to foster a positive and safe living environments.

As Senior Community Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of residential support workers, providing guidance, supervision, and support.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Working in the community with children and young people and their families
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Promoting positive relationships with children, their families, and external agencies.
  • Participating in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Handling administrative tasks, including record-keeping, report writing, and scheduling.
  • Addressing and resolving any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Working closely with the management team to continuously improve the quality of care provided.

We're looking for a Senior Community Support Worker with:

  • Previous experience working in a residential care setting for children. Experience working with children with emotional and complex needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Positive behaviour support experience
  • NVQ Level 4 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and standards.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
  • Clean Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Full UK clean driving license
  • Access to a vehicle is desirable
