Role: Electrical Design Support Engineer - HV

Salary: £50 000 - £65 000/annum

Benefits: Pension 5% and Private Medical Aid + Discretionary Bonus

Location: Remote locations will be considered with occasional visits to the office.

Our client is hiring an Electrical Design Support Engineer with experience in designing 11kV Electrical Distribution connections.

Job Description:

The Electrical Design Engineer, duties will include:

  • Undertake Primary Substation network design (11kV- 33kV), undertaking assessment of networks as appropriate.
  • As part of the role you will also ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up to 11KV.
  • The Electrical Design Support Engineer will ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up to 11kV.
  • High Voltage (HV) Network and Substation design.
  • Produce compliant designs in accordance with customer and UIP requirements/constraints.
  • Understand and apply iDNO Industry design standards and ENA ER standards where applicable.
  • Liaise with DNO/iDNO/UIPs, ICPs on all aspects of design.
  • Management of applications for Electrical connections on to the upstream operator's network.
  • Manage the relationship between all upstream parties for capacity and demand negotiations.

**Experience Required:

  • We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with electrical network design experience of up to at least 11kV.
  • Power Distribution experience.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD - A good understanding of 2D CAD drawing is essential.
  • Electricity network design experience with the ability to use design software.
  • We are looking for High Voltage (HV) Design Experience.
  • Experience working directly with customers and offering account support.
  • Enthusiastic, analytical and forward-thinking Design Support Engineer to ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up 11kV.
