Day-to-day of the role:
- Process import and export customs entries using CDS.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and procedures.
- Liaise with clients, shipping lines, and internal departments.
- Handle documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Monitor shipments and update clients on clearance progress.
- Resolve any customs-related queries efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customs clearance role (minimum 1 year).
- Strong understanding of UK customs procedures and documentation.
- Proficiency with customs software (e.g., Descartes, ASM Sequoia, or similar).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
