Management Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Groups' Accountancy & Finance division are excited to be working with a services business based in Leeds as they look to bring in a Management Accountant to their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information to ensure that an organisation's management team makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:

  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Prepare reports on financial performance, including profitability and cost analysis
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Generate and analyse cost, productivity, margins, and expenditures
  • Assist in the preparation of internal reports for management review
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor budget performance and report variances
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information
  • Implement and monitor internal controls
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions
  • Utilise accounting software to perform accounting tasks efficiently

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • Professional Accounting qualification AAT minimum
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar role
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis of financial data
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage, Oracle)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
