Elevation Recruitment Groups' Accountancy & Finance division are excited to be working with a services business based in Leeds as they look to bring in a Management Accountant to their team on a full time, permanent basis.
The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information to ensure that an organisation's management team makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Prepare reports on financial performance, including profitability and cost analysis
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate and analyse cost, productivity, margins, and expenditures
- Assist in the preparation of internal reports for management review
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and report variances
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information
- Implement and monitor internal controls
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions
- Utilise accounting software to perform accounting tasks efficiently
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Professional Accounting qualification AAT minimum
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar role
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Experience in financial reporting and analysis of financial data
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage, Oracle)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
