As Transport Contract General Manager, you'll support the client to maintain competitive advantage through its operations and services in the short, medium and long term. You will be a visible, engaging and competent leader of management teams and be able to demonstrate advanced commercial and negotiation skills within a Contract Logistics - Road Transport environment.
As part of your key responsibilities you'll:
- Lead Transport contractual delivery, evolution and development for the specific contract
- Act as the main point of contact for all client specific transport contract related interfaces and work with/ coordinate other Unipart Logistics functions and external stakeholders to deliver objectives.
- Lead the operational management and delivery team
- Coordinate the support of central transport functions and other internal cross functional departments to drive improvements in revenue and profit
- Identify and mobilise continuous improvement activities to deliver gain share targets and optimised process efficiency
- Ensure contract compliance and current contract levers are pulled to maximise margin quality wherever possible
- Use best in class tools and methodologies to support excellent customer relationships, putting the account plan at the heart of what we do and ensuring that real value is derived from all of the formal processes that support customer engagement
About You

- Proven experience leading a Transport site or business with full P&L, Commercial and Operational Delivery – ideally within Contract Logistics
- A thorough understanding of key commercial levers and influencers within a road transport business - essential
- A strong understanding of road transport regulatory and legislative frameworks - essential
- Qualified with a Transport manager CPC - Advantageous
- Recognised UK H&S qualification - Advantageous
- Advanced commercial acumen - essential
- Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation and commercial acumen - essential
- Ability to build effective business partner relationships both internally and externally
