Web Application Developer

Posted by Keystone Recruitment.

We are recruiting a Web Developer located with the Clinical Effectiveness Group to create browser-based health IT tools for use by general practice teams to visualise key parameters for patients with specific health conditions.

The postholder will provide support for the development of browser-based data tools using data drawn from GP clinical data systems within northeast London. The tools will be required to import one or more predefined CSV report file(s) that have been generated by the user's clinical system. Each tool will process and transform the data as required to display a report containing patient details and relevant clinical information.

An essential aspect of the project is that whilst the site would need to be hosted and accessible online, all processing of the CSV file and the data it contains MUST occur client-side only with none of the information from the CSV file leaving the client's machine. As the content of the CSV file is sensitive patient information, this is an essential requirement for information governance purposes.

The postholder will be the primary developer for this project, working to the direction of the Informatics Lead and in collaboration with the APL Development Working Group. They must have excellent frontend web development skills and be highly proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with an emphasis on client-side JavaScript frameworks. Given that these tools will be processing sensitive NHS patient records, applicants should have a wider understanding of data security and the techniques for ensuring that information processed and displayed by the tool is kept secure at all times.
