Nurture Art Teacher - Wonderful Opportunity

SEND College - Northwest London (Kingsbury, NW9)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-Term (Temp to Perm)
Salary: Paid to Scale (Inner London)

Engage Education is excited to be supporting a wonderful SEND College in Northwest London to recruit a passionate and nurturing Art Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

Why This Role Is So Special:

This is more than a teaching post—it's a chance to become a positive and lasting influence in the lives of young people with additional needs. This alternative provision supports KS3 and KS4 learners who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education and provides them with the structure, creativity, and care they need to thrive.

With small class sizes (6-10 students), a trauma-informed approach, and an emphasis on nurture, structure, and strong relationships, this college provides the perfect setting for a teacher who wants to teach with purpose and impact.

The Role - Nurture Art Teacher:

As the school's Art Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver creative, therapeutic, and inclusive Art lessons that engage and inspire
  • Support students' social and emotional development through creative expression
  • Collaborate across subjects—experience or willingness to support PSHE delivery is highly desirable
  • Promote high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and personal progress
  • Work as part of a small, close-knit team dedicated to restoring confidence and ambition in each student

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent (unqualified teachers with strong Art subject knowledge and SEND experience also welcomed)
  • Has UK classroom experience—ideally within SEMH, PRU or alternative education settings
  • Has an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
  • Is creative, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and the power of art to connect, heal, and inspire

Why You'll Love This Role:

  • Small, supportive learning environment with a nurturing team culture
  • Opportunity to contribute to PSHE and wellbeing-focused work
  • Freedom to design a curriculum that reflects student interests and personal growth
  • A genuinely rewarding opportunity to change lives through creative education
