As part of the development team within Deutsche Bank Numis Technology, you will work directly within the Deutsche Bank Numis Investment Companies business unit. The team services 40+ retained London-listed investment company clients that have mandates to invest in many different asset classes such as infrastructure (including renewables), property, debt, private equity, and listed equities from around the world.

The team has a long track record of raising capital for its retained corporate clients and has recently been growing its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) franchise.

Together with members of the business you will deliver projects and work to upgrade and modernise legacy Excel-based systems and processes, migrating them to the latest technology best practices and standards. You will enable the Investment Companies business to move forward with innovative solutions and enhancements to its technology.

Your key responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) based solutions for valuation, pricing, trading systems, and market data applications to meet business needs and bring them in line with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) policy
  • Work with the wider development team to replace Excel VBA applications with C# Azure based solutions that can scale with business demand and reduce support overheads
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements for trading systems and market data solutions
  • Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Create high quality user and system documentation for the existing and any replacement code/processes created

Your skills and experience

  • Proficient in developing well architected solutions using Excel VBA, C#, Azure and Structured Query Language (SQL) Server
  • Experience in creating user-friendly interfaces and dashboards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience
