Salary: £40,000

Purpose of role:

This truly independent insurance broker with a long history of providing commercial and personal insurance risk solutions is expanding in Edinburgh.

With a focus on property owners, manufacturing, engineering, charity & care, construction, haulage, motor trade, professions and many more areas within commercial insurance, they have built a strong brand and are regarded by many as a highly reputable insurance broking company. Due to continued success, they are looking for a Senior Commercial Broker to join their team to work alongside the company director.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with company director, handling key commercial insurance accounts.
  • Deal with new and existing business quotations, renewals, MTA's, policy issue, market submissions, etc.
  • Accompany director on client visits to enable you to build client rapport.
  • Provide a professional and cost-effective service to all clients.
  • Ensure insurer relationships are nurtured.
  • Act as technical reference point for less experienced broking staff.

Experience:

  • Track record of broking commercial insurance risks from SME to large size risks.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work efficiently to Service Level Agreements whilst ensuring high attention to detail.
  • Broad Experience of broking property, motor, BI, EL, PL, commercial combined, etc essential.
  • Confident handling new and existing business, renewals, MTAs, market submission etc.
  • Cert CII/ACII (or is prepared to work towards this qualification).
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Acturis.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer care.
