Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated PR Account Manager to join our team. This role will provide a unique opportunity to work with high-profile clients and play a key role in driving their success through strategic marketing and PR initiatives.

The Account Manager is a key role within our agency, serving as the vital link between Fusion and our clients. This position entails managing client accounts, contributing to strategy development, overseeing project execution, and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. Additionally, the Account Manager aids in business development and mentors junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing daily account activities.
  • Foster client relationships through consistent communication, meetings, and detailed reporting.

Strategy Development:

  • Contribute to the creation and execution of effective PR strategies and campaigns, including media relations, digital PR, influencer management, event coordination, and content development.

Team Collaboration:

  • Guide and support junior team members, setting tasks, managing workloads, and promoting a collaborative environment.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain media contacts, leading high-profile opportunities in national, lifestyle, and broadcast media.

Crisis Management:

  • Assist in crisis communication strategies, providing client support under senior management's guidance.

Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities and engage in pitching processes to prospective and existing clients.

Reporting:

  • Prepare comprehensive PR and campaign reports, providing insights and suggestions for improvement to clients and senior management.

Detailed Job Duties

Client Management:

  • Lead weekly client calls with clear agendas and timely updates.
  • Organize monthly client meetings to review results and upcoming activities.
  • Provide updates and reports on campaign progress and media coverage.
  • Guide junior staff on client management practices.
  • Allocate sufficient time to each client, flagging concerns to senior management.
  • Manage relationship mapping and internal allocations.
  • Ensure PR launches follow a set process, including planning and evaluation.

Strategy Development:

  • Conduct quarterly strategy reviews and adjustments for each account.
  • Lead monthly brainstorming sessions for account planning and campaign opportunities.
  • Keep strategy documents updated and accessible.
  • Set achievable KPIs based on client activities.

Team Collaboration:

  • Mentor team members as needed.
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality team output through regular reviews and feedback.
  • Engage the wider agency on significant projects and client moments.
  • Foster a positive team environment, ensuring everyone has necessary resources.
  • Plan account tasks weekly, updating Monday.com ahead of weekly stand-ups.

Media Relations:

  • Identify opportunities for clients through proactive outreach and guidance for account executives.
  • Meet with at least one journalist per month to build relationships.
  • Monitor client coverage regularly, addressing shortfalls or missed KPIs.
  • Lead high-profile media opportunities.

Crisis Management:

  • Support rapid response strategies in crises under senior management guidance.
  • Update crisis communication plans and coverage logs as needed.
  • Set up media monitoring to identify potential negative moments for clients.

Business Development:

  • Help identify potential new clients and participate in outreach.
  • Assist in developing proposals and pitch presentations.
  • Network at industry events to promote the agency.
  • Support recruitment efforts.
  • Promote client launches and successes on Fusion's social media to drive new business.

Reporting:

  • Ensure monthly and campaign reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead internal campaign debriefs to identify successes and improvement areas.
  • Conduct annual client reviews and ensure timely scheduling.
  • Provide monthly updates to the MD and CEO on client account statuses.
  • Complete project case studies as needed.

Budget Management:

  • Oversee client budgets to ensure PR work and campaigns stay within financial limits.

Professional Development and Mentoring:

  • Engage in professional development activities tailored to individual growth and agency needs.
  • Provide regular mentoring to another Fusion staff member.
