Our client, a leading and recognisable financial services institution, is seeking to recruit a Commercial Modeller to join their teams on a permanent basis. What you'll do:
As a Commercial Modeller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting management decisions through comprehensive analysis across a range of projects. You will develop innovative models and analytical methods to effectively evaluate the performance and profitability of various investment strategies.
Your active participation in fundraising for new product launches will be crucial, which includes addressing investor queries and generating return projections. Monitoring the performance of managed products, investigating trends and identifying areas for further analysis will also fall under your review.
You will contribute significantly to the analysis of existing positions by conducting stress-testing and sensitivity analysis for current assets under management. Furthermore, you will lead the future development of modelling architecture by assessing and implementing business intelligence tools.
- Develop models and analytical methods to effectively analyse performance and profitability of various investment strategies.
- Monitor the performance of the products under management, investigate trends and identify areas requiring further analysis.
- Contribute to analysis of existing positions, including stress-testing & sensitivity analysis for existing assets under management.
- Conduct analysis over a range of projects to support fund management decisions.
- Actively support fundraising for new product launches, including answering investor queries, generating returns projections & other ad-hoc analysis as necessary.
- Lead in the future development of the modelling architecture, including assessment & implementation of business intelligence tools.
- Respond to specific queries/answering questions, explaining outputs to internal stakeholders.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Commercial Modeller role will bring a strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Accounting or STEM fields. You will have demonstrable knowledge of or an aptitude for Financial Modelling and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Your strong MS Office Excel skills will be crucial in this role. Our client is looking for a self-motivated individual with a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong academic background within a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Accounting or STEM fields.
- Demonstrable knowledge of or an aptitude for Financial Modelling.
- 3+ years' relevant work experience.
- Strong MS Office Excel skills.
- High degree of attention to detail with the ability to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources.
- Self-motivated individual capable of using own initiative to drive improvements in business processes.
