**Job Overview:

Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for problem-solving and delivering top-notch customer service? We are seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team. This global role involves providing service, maintenance, and commissioning activities to ensure our customers receive the highest quality support. The position is multi-disciplinary, requiring expertise in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, and will often involve working independently at customer sites.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Inspections: Conduct regular maintenance inspections at customer locations to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Identify and repair faults on all supplied equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, serving as a reliable and professional point of contact.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate service reports, timesheets, and other required documentation using our internal systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality management systems and procedures to ensure all work meets the company's high standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Work safely at all times, with a strong focus on the safety of yourself and others, in accordance with health and safety policies.

**Skills & Experience:

  • Maintenance Expertise: Experience conducting both annual and intermediate maintenance inspections.
  • Engine Proficiency: Skilled in engine removal, installation, calibration, and performance testing.
  • Repair & Rebuild: Competence in stripping, repairing, and rebuilding engines to specified levels.
  • Technical Diagnosis: Basic skills in diagnosing and repairing faults on a range of equipment.
  • Vibration Analysis: Ability to perform vibration surveys on engines, gearboxes, and generators.
  • Documentation: Strong attention to detail in completing service reports, timesheets, and expense claims accurately and on time.
  • Task Planning: Ability to effectively plan and prepare for allocated tasks, ensuring efficient execution.
  • Commissioning Support: Experience assisting in the commissioning of machines is a plus.

**Knowledge Requirements:

  • Gas Turbine Principles: Basic understanding of gas turbine operations.
  • CHP Installations: Familiarity with the principles and advantages of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) installations.
  • Control Systems: Knowledge of unit and engine control systems, generator control, and protection methods.
  • Emissions Control: Understanding of emissions control systems and methods.
  • Safety & Quality Standards: Knowledge of health & safety, quality, and environmental policies, with the ability to carry out risk assessments and prepare method statements.
