Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with profound learning difficulties? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant for a school in Carteton, Oxfordshire.
Role and Responsibilities: As a Long Term Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting students with their daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and communication.
- Supporting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and implementing individual education plans.
- Creating a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and encourages independence.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic development of each student.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting observations to the relevant staff members.
- Establishing positive relationships with students, their families, and the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people is essential and experience working with profound learning difficulties is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting mainstream individuals and individuals with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the willingness to assist with various tasks as required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
