We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our clients dynamic team. In this role, you will support the Managing Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Department, and project team to maximize profit and reduce risk. Our client delivers a range of essential infrastructure services to the water, transport, telecommunication and energy sectors in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing relevant information for preparing reports and claims within agreed timescales.
- Support the implementation of commercial applications for site personnel while building strong relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
- Regularly refer to the project risk management plan for thorough and accurate risk assessments, monitoring the register and related documentation.
- Manage sub-contractors, ensuring compliant submissions and producing necessary documentation to secure services.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge of commercial issues and contract law.
- Develop and suggest processes for increased accuracy and efficiency, minimizing time spent on journal and reconciliation tasks.
- Coordinate with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial coverage.
- Assist the team and Project Manager, Engineers, and Planners in recovering contract costs and identifying variations, delays, and claims.
- Help produce monthly project financial reports and forecasts for analysis with Finance and Commercial staff.
- Develop strong and balanced negotiating skills.
- Attend handover and progress meetings as requested.
- Assist in producing a site commercial manual and documents to record variations.
- Comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies in accordance with OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Work within established company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to meet business demands and satisfy customer needs.
