Warehouse Manager

All About the Role

Based at our BCP Scunthorpe site, we currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Warehouse Manager. The purpose of this role is to manage the shifts within the warehouse and all relevant personnel (c 30 people), undertaking general site responsibilities. You will be working closely with the Operations Manager & Shift Team Leaders to manage all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements in line with the group's philosophy of ‘Safety First'. You will also be responsible for managing existing and contributing to the development of new processes and procedures, ensuring, and improving the level of productivity, profitability, and efficiency in line with the site's business requirements.

Specific Tasks Include

  • Oversee the day-to-day shift operations ensuring all goods are received, stock picks are carried out accurately, and deliveries happen in an efficient and timely way.
  • Lead the shift teams to meet & exceed productivity, operating cost, customer service and quality target levels.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in a manner which fully complies with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Group policies, and all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Be adaptable & flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements, developing a "safety-first" approach through standardised application of lean techniques.
  • Ensure effective communication between operations, planning, and commercial functions to align customer demands with the constraints of operational capacity.
  • Ensure organisation of workflow & staff to meet production requirements.
  • Management of staff T&A
  • Be hands on in the warehouse when required
  • Oversee the maintenance schedule
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and piers across the group

Essential Skills for the role:

  • Have excellent leadership and man-management skills and be well-versed in managing and developing effective team-working.
  • You must have an excellent working knowledge of H&S Leadership and ideally be IOSH trained.
  • Previous experience in a similar management role within an operational environment.
  • Used to working in a flexible, results oriented, team environment.
  • Able to build good working relationships with the team, site, and wider business.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office, able to combine managing all admin-based shift requirements, whilst not being afraid to get your hands dirty when the need requires.
  • Be ambitious and driven to improve yourself, your team & the business in general.
  • Hands-on management style as required.
